Giant Size X-Men #1: The Successful Reboot of the X-Men | Vlog 20

Right now, I’m a very happy comic book reader because I finally got my hands on a copy of GIANT SIZE X-MEN #1. I have wanted to read this historic comic from 1975 for years because I am a big fan of Chris Claremont’s run of the X-Men.

And the team that was introduced in this Giant Size X-Men is my favorite team of the X-Men. Granted, this is the genesis of that team: Kitty Pryde and Rogue would join the ranks of the X-Men later on. However, I have always wanted to know how Len Wein and Dave Cockrum practically rebooted the X-Men franchise with this comic. And thanks to a True Believers reprint of this story, I was able to finally read it.

“Should Spider-Man Stay Married?” Answering the First Annual Marvel Survey From 1994 | ACG Vlog 09

In 1994 Marvel published their first annual Survey to check with their readers a couple of things. I came across this survey in X-Men Annual #3 and was curious about the questions the publisher would ask. In this vlog we’ll go through all ten questions and issues.

I will give you the answers I would have given back then, but I’m also very curious about what your answers would’ve been.

Gina Gershon is Jean Grey?!? | ACG Vlog 08

Reading X-Men ’95 by artists Terry Dodson & John Paul Leon, I come across a panel of a beautiful redhead that looks exactly like actress Gina Gershon.

A moment later I realize this is supposed to be Jean Grey of the X-Men. Did the artists use Gina Gershon as a reference for Jean Grey? How great would it have been if she’d been in an X-Men movie? Speaking of X-Men movies: who would you cast as Jean Grey?

Cool X-Men Pin-Ups by Larkin, Sienkiewicz, Brereton and others | ACG Vlog 07

I went through my X-Men comic collection this morning. There is a large pile of issues I got from a couple of friends a while ago and I haven’t read yet. A came across X-Men: The Ultra Collection, a comic that consists of illustrations and pin-ups of the X-Men and their universe.

Most of the illustrations are from the ’94 Fleer Ultra X-Men Trading Cards. Enjoy! By the way, I’m suffering from a nasty cold, that’s why my voice is a bit screwed up in this vlog. Oh, well, what can you do…
