This week I edited a little celebration of the Hobgoblin. To this day he’s still one of my favorite Spider-Man villains. I was there as a young reader when the character was first introduced by Roger Stern and John Romita Jr. They made a great two part story in which we see how an unknown guy gets the old equipment of the Green Goblin and modifies everything to become the Hobgoblin. His outfit would look great on any halloweenparty . For the longest time they kept the readers in the dark about Hobgoblin’s true identity. Comics back then were a lot of fun.
I think my 10 year old self would’ve loved the video. In fact, 43 year old me is pretty pleased with it as well.
To this day The Hobgoblin remains one of my favorite Spider-Man villains of all time. Because it’s almost Halloween, I felt like making this little video about Hobgoblin.

Stranger Things Free Comic Book Day Comic from 2019 looks great, but is it just as interesting as the tv-series?

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine gave a big bag filled to the brim with comics. He had no use for them anymore and wondered if I’d like to have them. I thought that I had read most of the comics from this stack and put them on the shelves with the rest of my collection. However, a couple of days ago I came across a box that was filled with some of the comics from that same big bag. So I figured, why not go through this stack together, as a bit of a delayed comic book haul.
One of the comments I got on the last video I did on Todd McFarlane’s artwork lead to an interesting discovery about one of his Spider-Man illustrations. Also in this episode a close look at Web of Spider-Man Annual 4 (1988), which has a cool year in review of Spider-Man’s life.
Recently I made a video about the first time I came across Todd McFarlane’s Spider-Man art. This is a follow-up video in which we take a closer look at some of his early, original art. We see covers from his Amazing Spider-Man run, Incredible Hulk en even some Batman. Enjoy!
