As a citizen of Amsterdam one cannot miss the starting of the tourist season. During it one can hardly walk down town in the crowded streets. I shot this little moment from within a bus, safe from the crowds.

In the city I either travel by tram or bus but mostly by foot. I love walking through Amsterdam. It’s a great city to walk through. Besides, riding your bike here is kinda like being a kamikaze pilot.

Op de ramen van boekhandel Bijleveld te Utrecht is deze cartoon op alle ramen geplakt.
Maar net als in het plaatje heeft niet iedereen de boodschap begrepen.
Living in Holland, but especially living in Amsterdam means you’ll see thousands of bikes every day. They pass you by on the streets, on the sidewalks or just stand in your way while you try to walk. Or some biker will run you over while you walk on the pedestrian crossing. I love bikes though, not bikers. I used to bike everyday. But not since I moved to Amsterdam… Here, biking isn’t covered by my insurance. Too dangerous they said. 🙂 I rather walk anyway.
